About CrewMate

Built by a contractor, not a lab.

CrewMate wasn’t dreamed up in a startup office. It started in a work van, with a phone ringing on a passenger seat that nobody could reach.

The missed calls were mine.

I’m Raj. I’m a contractor — I run my own renovation business across Toronto and Brampton. Like every trades business, we live and die by the phone — and for years, the phone kept ringing at the exact moments nobody could pick it up. On a ladder. Cutting tile. Driving between sites.

Every one of those rings was a real person with a real job to give someone. Some left a voicemail. Most didn’t — they just called the next company on the list. I lost work I never even knew I was up for, and there was no line on any report that showed it.

Hiring office staff to sit by the phone costs more than a small shop can carry, and even then the phone still rings at 9 PM. Answering services take a message — which helps nobody when the caller wanted a price and a time, not a promise of a callback.

So I built the front office I couldn’t afford to hire.

CrewMate is what I wanted for my own company: you keep your number, forward your line, and an AI — ours is named Sarah, yours can be named anything — answers every call, 24/7. She gives ballpark prices from your own price book, books look-see visits into real openings on your calendar, and texts you what happened after every call.

Then the paperwork follows the job on its own: quote, signature, booking, invoice, payment. The stuff that used to eat my evenings.

We built it for plumbers first, because plumbing is where an unanswered phone hurts most — a burst pipe at 11 PM doesn’t leave a voicemail.

Where we are today — honestly.

CrewMate is at the founding-pilot stage. We’re onboarding a small group of founding plumbing shops, and I set each one up personally — one call, your services, your prices, your hours, and you’re live. No invented testimonials on this site, no made-up numbers. When our pilot shops have results worth sharing, you’ll read them here in their own words.

That early stage cuts both ways, and I’d rather you know it: you get software shaped every week by real plumbers using it, direct access to the founder, and founding pricing — and you’re trusting a young product. The live demo with no credit card exists so that trust costs you nothing to test.

Our mission

To help plumbing businesses automate the office work and grow the business — so owners can stay on the tools and still win every job.

Our vision

A trades industry where no job is lost to an unanswered phone and no evening is lost to paperwork — where every shop, however small, runs like it has a full office behind it.

How we run it

You keep your number

Your phone number is your business. You forward it to CrewMate; you can unforward it any time. It never stops being yours.

Plain language everywhere

Built by someone who runs a trades company, not someone who writes software manuals. If a plumber can’t understand a screen, the screen is wrong.

Your prices, your rules

Sarah quotes from your price book and books your calendar. She works for you — she doesn’t make things up.

Your data stays yours

Never sold, never shared, walled off from every other business. Leave anytime and it’s still yours.

Built and run in Ontario, Canada. The plain-English data rundown lives on Security & Your Data.

Hear her before your customers do.

Talk to Sarah on the home page, see how it works for plumbing shops, or book a demo and hear her answer a real call.
